Fedoras optional but recommended

The smooth sounds of Tim Warfield got me ready for the weekend Thursday night at White Rose. I was happy to hear some holiday tunes in the setlist. I was also thrilled that the bar put in more booths since the last time I was there. I'm a fan of the high-backed, red velvet-lined seating. It makes for a cozy place to sip a cocktail while wearing a black fedora (or so I've heard).

Friday night, I walked down to Continental Square to see Light Up Night. Ever since they put the massive evergreen on the square I've been impatiently waiting for it to be lit. I also saw Santa ride into town, but I didn't get a chance to ask him for a white Christmas. Insteads, I met up with with some not-so-kid-friendly Kris Kringles at local bars. You'll have to read about my adventures in my PopEye column Thursday.

I spent Saturday afternoon wrapping presents. After one re-do and several paper cuts, I sat back to admire my handiwork, but only for a few minutes. I made a quick pit stop at Club 19 to meet a band I recently interviewed who was playing a show there. Before the sea of teenage punkrockers swallowed me whole, I decided to brave the icy roads to get to an album release party at Senorita Burrita's in Lancaster. There were some sweet live performances, but no burritos were consumed.

I made up for the lack of burrito eating Sunday when I showed a friend the awesomeness that is Roburrito's on West Market Street. After watching the Eagles put the smackdown on the Giants, we spent way more time than I'd like to admit in this post watching season three of "The West Wing." Like yummy Mexican food, Sam Seaborn, aka Rob Lowe, is hard to resist.
