Season's greetings FlipSiders. You can call me old-fashioned because that's my thing right now, at least as far as cinema's concerned. Thursday night, I watched the copy of "The Maltese Falcon" that I kidnapped borrowed from my father. It was pretty sweet, but what movie with Humphrey Bogart isn't?

I had off Friday and was planning to skip town, but the weather made me reconsider. At least, I had plenty of time to wrap up my holiday shopping, baking, etc. I made my second trip this month to Iko's Music Trade in Springettsbury Township and got into a discussion about some obscure folk artists. I think I'll be going back there more often.

Saturday, "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" was on TCM and ,as previously mentioned, I have a thing for old movies. (I had not previously mentioned that I also have a thing for filibusters.)

In the evening, I stopped living in the 1930s and went to a friend's party downtown. I watched a portion of "Bad Santa," listened to Christmas carols by James Brown and debated drinking eggnog (but didn't.) It was quite icy when I headed home in the wee hours. I know this becuase I fell flat on my butt right on Market Street. Maybe it was due to sheer embarassment, but I didn't get out of bed until Sunday afternoon to grab a bite at the Lyndon Diner and look at Christmas lights around York. Unlike some people, looking at dozens of inflatable holiday displays got me feeling merry again in a jiffy.
