‘Rap Pack,’ Sir Paul bring down the house

Morgan Freeman reveals that Kenny Chesney’s his homeboy. (Who knew?) Chesney breaks out into a heartfelt ballad. Confession: I don’t know a lot about country music. I realize that I should get on that, especially after listening to Alison Krauss and Robert Plant’s tunes.
Diddy, Natalie Cole and Herbie Hancock present the award for Record of the Year to Alison Krauss and Robert Plant for “Please Read the Letter.” (BTW Diddy appears on “CSI: Miami” Monday night.)

Queen Latifah presents Dean Martin with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The television switches to black and white. MIA, whose baby was due tonight, kicks off the “Rap Pack’s” performance. T.I., Kanye West, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne throw their rhymes down during the hip-hop summit. My mind is blown. (I’m also trying to get over M.I.A’s crazy see-through polka-dot getup.)
Sir Paul McCartney performs “I Saw Her Standing There.” Dave Grohl plays drums. He bangs his head a lot more than Ringo ever did. So far, the performances have been impressive, even if the sound isn’t that great.
