Playing the blues on Beale Street

Little Ivory Blues Band headed to Memphis last weekend to play the International Blues Challenge's Youth Showcase. Read an e-mail update from singer Aaron Lewis' father:

LIBB PLAYS MEMPHIS 020.jpg

I thought I'd pass that things went extremely well in Memphis...After they played their 20 minute set, they were immediately hired to play two four-hour gigs on Beale Street including Club 152 on Saturday night...After playing for over 8 hours on Saturday, Aaron could barely talk...both guitar players had blisters on all their fingers, the drummer's sticks were shredded...but I think they really accomplished what they set out to do: get their name known. The club owner told them they have a home and a booking anytime they are in Memphis.
