Just because Tom Brokaw retired from the "Nightly News" doesn't mean he's sitting at home on the couch.
Nope, the former NBC anchor is traveling U.S. Highway 50 in the coming months to report on Americans' reactions to the economic meltdown and the Obama administration. The project is headed by NBC-owned USA Network.
It's unknown where he will stop along the way (Ocean City, Md., maybe?), and the program is not expected to air until January 2010, about one year after President Obama's inauguration. In the meantime, parts of his journey will run on NBC News.
Personally, I'm anxious to hear what "we, the people" have to say, even if Brokaw's voice makes me sleepy.
