Beatles rock on

rockband1.jpegYou still can't find Beatles music on iTunes, but don't fret: the music will soon be all over the video game world.

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr (along with Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison) talked Monday about the release of "The Beatles: Rock Band." Well, Ono and Harrison didn't really talk. They were there for moral support (and perhaps to get paid?).

We've known about the game's release (set for 9-9-09) since March (read ace FlipSide reporter Erin McCracken's blog entry here). But a few more details were released at Microsoft's Electronic Entertainment Expo in southern California. Keep reading for the details.

Unlike previous "Rock Band" games, this one will feature three-part vocal harmonies, not to mention 45 Beatles songs (which makes Rock Band, 45; iTunes, 0.)

One song will be absent from the game, though. "All You Need is Love" will only be available for download on the Xbox 360, with proceeds benefitting Doctors Without Borders.
