Since we're halfway through 2009 (gasp!) NPR decided to let listeners vote for the best singles and CDs of the year to this point. See who made the top five in each category:

Best Song: "My Girls" by Animal Collective; "Two Weeks" by Grizzly Bear; "Blood Bank" by Bon Iver; "Zero" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs; "Lisztomania" by Phoenix

Best Album: "Merriweather Post Pavillion" by Animal Collective; "Veckatimest" by Grizzly Bear; "Hazards of Love" by The Decemberists; "Middle Cyclone" by Neko Case; "Wilco (The Album)" by Wilco
