harp.jpeg The Harp & Fiddle closed Monday after a 5-year run. Owner Jimmy Fagan said business was down, but will meet with the owners next week to discuss the bar's future. Locals were surprised:

York's mayor John Brenner: "Every urban area needs a good Irish pub."

Greg DeShong, member of the Love Haters, a band that was to play the Harp Friday: "You never knew how it was doing."

Mary Yeaple, York St. Patrick's Day Parade organizer: "We're sorry to see them go."

Tom Sibol, White Rose Bar & Grill owner: "I think they'll bounce back. It would be best for all of us."
