If I could have one wish, I would wish to be a rock star -- specifically Debbie Harry. She's a punk/pop icon and she's still rocking out at 64. Move over Gwen Stefani -- I think have a new idol.
I've always been a fan of Blondie's music, so I was pretty excited to see them live for the first time at MusicFest in Bethlehem. The Donnas and Pat Benatar opened, and while my friend and I completely missed The Donnas, we managed to catch Pat Benatar's encore of "Heartbreaker."
Blondie played all of their hits, but sadly, they skipped "Dreaming," one of my favorite songs.
The raucous, (yes, raucous), primarily middle-aged crowd drank beer from giant plastic containers and danced wildly around us. I couldn't help but wonder if their teenagers were at home text messaging them to stay out of trouble.
It was a good time. I imagined myself as Debbie Harry, singing at CBGB's in the late '70s and hanging out with rock stars all day long. Not to mention getting to wear sweet outfits like the one in this photo.
How can I recreate this dress? I'm thinking a white bed sheet and red electrical tape? Any suggestions?
