2010 Grammys will be ladies’ night

bandj.jpeg What you need to know about the Grammy nominees:

  • Beyonce, the artist possibly known as Sasha Fierce, received 10 Grammy nominations including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year. (Happy now Kanye West?)
  • Taylor Swift received eight nominations. Yawn. No surprise there.
  • Lady Gaga received five nominations but was denied a Best New Artist bid. (Let the debate rage on.)
  • Other artists/males we’re happy to see nominated: Maxwell, Kid Cudi, Stephen Colbert, Kings of Leon, John Legend, Phoenix, Coldplay, Wilco, Drake, Jay-Z, Steve Martin
  • Arists we’re not too please to see on the list: Black Eyed Peas, Dave Matthews Band, Katy Perry, Green Day, Sean Paul
  • Most interesting category: Best New Artist. With Zac Brown Band, Keri Hilson, MGMT, Silversun Pickups and The Ting Tings nominated, we can’t wait to see who wins.
  • Check out all of the nominees. Share your thoughts and predictions before the Grammys air Jan. 31, 2010 on CBS.
