Pullo Center books Buddy Guy; Strand adds Al Jarreau, Lily Tomlin and Ian Anderson

Blues guitarist Buddy Guy will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at Penn State’s Pullo Family Performing Arts Center, 1031 Edgecomb Ave. in Spring Garden Township. The Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St. in York, added more events to its 2010-11 season. Tickets go on sale Monday for Strand members and at 10 a.m. July 12 for the public. Read about the newly added shows on the jump.

Enjoy snacks from local restaurants and live entertainment during Sweet Beginnings. The event, which celebrates the Strand’s new season, runs 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 25 and noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 26. Tickets are $50 for the adult-only Saturday event and $20 for adults and $10 for children during Sunday’s family-friendly event.
Grammy Award-winning jazz artist Al Jarreau will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2. Tickets cost $43, $53 and $63. There will be an opening night cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and include a cash bar.
Spend An Evening with Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23. Tickets cost $25, $34 and $44.
Comedian Lily Tomlin performs at 7:30 p.m. March 25. Tickets cost $49, $59 and $69. The event includes a pre-show dinner option.
