A boatload of celebrities got engaged during the holidays. They include: LeBron James, Wynonna Judd, John Legend, Matthew McConaughey, Britney Spears, Michael Jordan, Aretha Franklin and Justin Timberlake to Jessica Biel. (His grandmom confirmed.)
Many local couples followed the trend, including FlipSide copyeditor Jess Krout. Congrats!
Now, it’s time to start planning the big day. Luckily, there are several wedding expos and events coming up:
– Wedding Wonderland is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at York Expo Center in West Manchester Township. Admission is free.
– Best Wedding Showcase runs noon to 4 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Lancaster Host Resort. Admission is $5 to benefit charity.
– Bridal fashion will be featured in the PRIMP Women’s Expo and Designer Fashion Show noon to 5 p.m. March 10 at York City Ice Arena, 941 Vander Ave., York.
– Get inspiration from “Dream Weddings,” a reality TV show based in South Central Pennsylvania that airs on WGAL-TV (Ch. 8). It premiered last winter. Check out photos from the “Dream Wedding” of West Manchester Township couple Andrea Potts and Jon Harris.

It may sound like a cliche that your wedding day, the one that cost you a fortune in time money and stress, should be the most memorable day of your life. Well in theory anyway it is a unique one-off event ideally only happening once in your lifetime. All dry wit aside it should be an extraordinary day. No matter if it is a small or a grandiose event the day should be quite remarkable
