‘Old Memories: The Songs of Bill Monroe’ by The Del McCoury Band

Bluegrass pioneer Bill Monroe would have turned 100 last September. He passed away in 1996, but his memory lives on through his music thanks to The Del McCoury Band. Today, McCoury, who grew up in York County, released a tribute CD “Old Memories: The Songs of Bill Monroe.”

The album, which was released digitally late last year, already earned a Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album. It’s marks McCoury’s ninth nomination.

Read a 2010 interview with McCoury. He talked about how his son and Del McCoury Band mandolin player, Ronnie, was mentored by Monroe.

  1. So let’s discuss this face lift cosmetic surgery also called ‘Rhytidectomy’. This medical procedure is done with the aim of tightening the sagging, loose skin on the face, as well as get rid of those large, unsightly wrinkles found around the lips, nose and chin areas. This surgery is often coined as ‘face-and-neck lift’ since it involves both the face and the neck.
