Art Institute of York Portfolio Showcase
Discover tomorrow’s talent as Art Institute of York students show their work 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 11 in the lobby of the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St., York. Visitors can browse the portfolios of senior students.
York College’s Division of Art exhibit
Senior students from York College’s Division of Art will present their work starting at 5 p.m. Dec. 7 in DeMeester Recital Hall on campus, 441 Country Club Road, Spring Garden Township. A reception will follow at 5:45 p.m. in the Evelyn and Earle Wolf Hall lobby. Awards will be presented 6:30 p.m. in the Cora Miller Gallery. Events are free and open to the public.
This biannual exhibition, which runs through Dec. 18, features work from the following fine art and graphic design majors, including Julian Nicole Salinas, of Hanover. She will exhibit her new identity system and website for Computadoras Pro Jovenes (Computers For School Kids), a nonprofit based in San Miguel, Mexico, that collects computers for schools, college students and children with disabilities. (Watch a video below.) A donation box for gently used laptops with Windows XP and higher will be at the show.
