Look back at York’s big entertainment stories of 2012

File photo: York native and former Live lead singer Ed Kowalczyk performs an acoustic show Nov. 9 at Penn State York’s Pullo Family Performing Arts Center.

It’s hard to believe that 2012 is almost in the books. After a quick look through the archives, it’s also hard to believe how many big local entertainment stories broke in the past 12 months. It’s been a busy but great year to be an entertainment reporter. Bring on 2013. (I fully retain the right to regret saying that two months from now.) Check out the list below and read the full rundown.

— Live makes headlines with new singer, legal battle
— Club XS fights with LCB and eventually goes on the market
— Local’s movie up for Oscar
— Big names in art returned to York, including Jeff Koons and Ken Ludwig
— YSO: Marvin Hamlisch died before he joined in on 80th season
— Frankie Muniz joins Kingsfoil
— Changes to area events: Fourth of July, Rosies move and other events struggle
— Halestorm headed to Grammys
