Tammy Mitzel, who co-owns a landscaping business in Wrightsville, drove 50 hours to get to Culver City, Calif. to be on an episode of “Wheel of Fortune,” which aired Monday.
Check out an excerpt from a blog Mitzel posted about her experience:
My trip to “Wheel Of Fortune” started with a 2,700-mile drive across the country with my husband Bob, my son Colby and my daughter Tara. We arrived in Culver City the Saturday before my Thursday taping. After a day of catching up on sleep, our vacation began. We took bus tours of Malibu, Beverly Hills and Hollywood.
The next morning I was up at 5 a.m. and was at the studio by 6:45. When I spun that wheel for the first time it was a DREAM COME TRUE! I was so excited to see Pat & Vanna. Pat was so nice and supportive during the commercial breaks. I really wasn’t too nervous to play the game, but I was very worried about the interview.
I was lucky enough to land on the California trip. I solved the puzzle, so it’s exciting that I’ll be going back to California again. There is still so much to see. I won a trip to St. Maarten, and I am VERY excited to go to a new country. I won a total of $81,967. I still can’t believe it. With that money I am going to do a little remodeling and pay down my mortgage. I’m also getting a new couch and a newer car. And, of course I’ll have a little spending money for my 2 trips.
