Rock and country giants will unite for a one-night only show this summer. Journey and Rascal Flatts will hit the stage 5:30 p.m. Aug. 1 at Hersheypark Stadium, 100 W. Hersheypark Drive, Hershey. Tickets cost $25, $55, $75 and $125. Taxes and processing fees will be added. They go on sale noon Friday, April 12, and are available at the Hersheypark box office, by phone at 717-534-3911 and online at www.hersheyparkstadium.com. Country group The Hersheypark Concert Deal and wristband policy is in effect. The Band Perry and “The Voice” winner Cassadee Pope will open the show.
The co-headlining performance comes after the groups shared the stage Feb. 2 at the 2013 Super Bowl XLVII CMT Crossroads concert in New Orleans. Journey, formed in 1973, has earned 25 gold and platinum albums, according to a news release. In 2011, the band’s anthem “Don’t Stop Believin’” was honored as the top-selling digital classic rock song in history by Nielsen SoundScan.
Rascal Flatts is one of the best-selling and most decorated country vocal groups of the past decade. With its latest album, “Changed,” the band became one of only a few groups to have seven consecutive studio albums debut in the top spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart.
