Creating a mixtape is a lost art. Most people these days just hit the shuffle button on iTunes to switch up their songs. But, back in the day, some of us spent hours splicing tunes onto cassette tapes to capture the right musical mood. Then, we listened to them in our car (which came with a cassette deck) or Walkman — once the coolest gadget around. Do you remember making mixtapes?
Share five or six songs (about the length of one side) that you have or would put on your tape. In 100 words or less, tell us why you chose those songs. Include your name, age and township in which you live. Email submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “mixtape” by July 12. We plan to post submissions as part of an upcoming FlipSide weekend package.
New Kids on the Block, TLC, Train to play 2013 Mixtape Festival July 26 and 27 at Hersheypark Stadium.
