Female performers team up for Singing for Survivors benefit show Oct. 18 in York

Local singer songwriter Sabrina Duke is organizing, hosting and performing at a benefit concert October 18 at The Shop at New Grounds, 234 W. Market St., York. Read a recent interview with Duke. The event, titled Singing for Survivors, is a benefit concert to raise money for domestic violence awareness. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Proceeds will go to the YWCA of York and Access-York, which seeks to eliminate domestic violence and offer support, education and a safe environment for victims of domestic violence.

The lineup includes several popular female performers, including Dana Alexandra, Carman Bryant (from the band RPM), Maria Lytle, Caroline Rose, Sarah Beth (from Indian Summer Jars) and Katie Robinette (from Just Like Prom Night) and more. The tickets are $5 in advance and can be purchased at New Grounds or the YWCA. They are $10 at the door. Click here for details.
