I’m sure you’ve already heard, but I covered the opening of the “Jeff Koons: A Retrospective” exhibit late last month at the Whitney Museum in New York City.

Since I filed that story and the Daily Record ran this item, calls and emails have been steadily trickling in from folks who are curious about Koons. It got me thinking about a few things:

1. Does anyone from York County have a Koons piece?
2. Does anyone from York County have an interesting Koons anecdote?
3. One question I’ve heard for years — and again during the last few weeks: How can York get a Koons piece? I know of a few separate efforts happening around that. But it might be more effective to create some kind of united effort headed by a local organization. Just a thought. Discuss.

Feel free to share your thoughts and ideas on all things Koons. Email me at emccracken@ydr.com or call 717-771-2051.

I’ve honestly never heard of Koons before but that heart is spectacular. Some how I feel as though I should have deeper words considering how striking it is but in truth I simply like it. I guess that’s enough.

I can say that the photo it’s self is striking. I like the reflection seen in the heart. The spectacular highlights and I love the shadows cast on the wall by the bows and even the stance of the subject in the foreground. Is it Koons himself? Now way of knowing but it’s a great shot that says volumes.

Anyway, thank you for sharing, I Found the FlipSide page via LinkedIn,

    Barry
