'P. Runway' recap

Music to my eyes
Pop some crazy pills and strap in for another wild "Project Runway" ride.
The Parsons posse had to design outfits for (pause for effect) each other. Oh. Snap.
And then they were each assigned a random musical genre to interpret with their looks. Holy. Crap.
Yes, the fabric definitely hit the fan Wednesday night. The runway looked like the United Nations -- MTV TRL (R.I.P.) style. All musical cliques were represented -- the probably insecure pop stars, the glam goths, the ghetto gangstas, the country bumpkins and the heroine-chic rockers.

If you love quirky films . . .

be-kind-rewind.jpeg

. . . then you need to see this one. My favorite Frenchman has wowed me yet again. I finally rented Michel Gondry's "Be Kind Rewind," starring Jack Black, Mos Def and Danny Glover.

There Will Be Milkshakes!

I rented "There Will Be Blood" the other day. According to a co-worker, I'm into "fancy" films such as this one. I have to admit, I'm a sucker for movies that dig at the depths of human flaws, that unearth the greed and rivalry in people, that feature a crazed Daniel Day Lewis screaming about drinking milkshakes.

See this music video for a sneak peek into the deep drama of "There Will Be Blood." You'll be moved by its profundity.

Joshua Allen takes home 'Dance' prize

josh.jpg

Joshua Allen won the title of America's favorite dancer on "So You Think You Can Dance." I'm pretty stoked since he was one of my favorites from the beginning. Joshua, a street dancer with hardly any formal dance training, was able to pull off every dance style that was thrown at him with little effort. Well, he made it seem effortless, anyway. Joshua won $250,000 and a movie role.

'Killed' in Camden

Killers.jpeg

No, I didn't get shot in Camden, but it was pretty close. I saw The Killers at the Download Festival on Saturday. I had no idea The Killers had such a frat-boy fan base. They swarmed around the amphitheater and parking lot in their polo shirts and cargo shorts, spilling their plastic cups of beer on unsuspecting, sober concert-goers (for once, I left a concert beer-stain free). The day was filled with music, but my friends and I only went for Iggy Pop and The Stooges, and of course, The Killers.

Fox's 'Dance' nominated for Emmys

lrsytucd_.jpgI've been hooked on Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" for the past few weeks, but sadly, the finale is near and the competition is causing me to bite my nails nonstop. My favorite dancers are Katee and Joshua. They are just so versatile and exciting to watch. Not surprisingly, "Dance" is up for several Emmys. See what it's nominated for.

Food for your eyes

There's nothing more satiating to your eyes and mind than a good, hearty piece of art. Stop-motion animator Adam Pesapane recreates the making of a simple pasta dish by using everyday objects, such as Post-it notes, a Rubik's cube, a crisp dollar bill and bubble-wrap. Check out this video - it's gastronomically and artistically pleasing.
