Apple Collision Center using base coat that lowers emissions

| | Comments (0)

Apple Collision Center, a facility of Apple Automotive of York, has said it is now using a waterborne base coat in its painting process. It is supposed to cut down on gases that can cause smog and other problems.

The base coat product reportedly cuts those emissions of VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, by about 80 percent.

Visit the EPA site for more information on VOCs and the manufacturer's Web site for more information on PPG Envirobase High Performance, the type of base coat Apple said it is now using.
