Pa. rebate for hybrids expiring -- now where are the used vehicles in York County?

| | Comments (0)

Anyone who wants $500 in government help to buy a hybrid vehicle has until March 6 to buy or lease one, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

The Hybrid Vehicle Rebate program began in 2004 but the money is running out.

Although, while the March 6 deadline is still being used in communications, the DEP is saying simultaneously that the money could be gone before then -- or it could be available for eligible buyers into the fall.

So the best bet is probably to get out there now and buy a hybrid before it's too late. So this is my question for you: Has anyone seen hybrid vehicles show up on used car lots yet? If you have, let us know. That could potentially open up the hybrid market to far more people than could ever afford one new.
