Elizabethtown College will host a free showing of the documentary film “No Impact Man” at 7:30 p.m. March 29 in the college’s Brinser Lecture Room.
The 2009 movie documents environmentalist Colin Beavan’s vow to reduce his environmental impact to almost zero for a year — no automated transportation, electricity, non-local food or material consumption.
His wife isn’t so into the experiment, and the filmmakers capture the strain and strengthened bonds within the family as the couple and their 2-year-old daughter adjust to such a severe lifestyle change.
Beaven went on to create the No Impact Project, a nonprofit effort that aims to empower citizens to make choices that better their lives and lower their environmental impact through lifestyle change, community action and participation in environmental politics.
