With the amount of money invested in the technology, GM and Toyota say the electrification of the automobile is inevitable.

The recent trend has more to do with gasoline prices: Out of sight out of mind.

The good news for consumers who want a hybrid is that prices are more negotiable at the dealership. When there is an ample supply you are more in control of your purchase. During the lifespan of the hybrid, the cost of gasoline will likely hit a few high cycles and people will think you were smart, purchasing one when demand was cool.
