Sony has developed a battery prototype that runs on sugars that can generate enough electricity to power a music player and a pair of speakers.
The battery works by pouring a sugar solution into the unit, where enzymes break it down to generate electricity. Sugar is produced by plants and is a naturally process by photosynthesis.

As an educator in the healthy food choices industry as well as an environmental enthusiast I can't help but wonder how we can get people to stop eating so much sugar and start buying batteries that run on sugar instead. People are always looking for the easier softer way, and that is rarely good for their bodies or the environment!
