"green-collar" jobs
Obama said in a speech said that he wanted to call for a decade-long investment in a $150 billion plan to create five million so-called "green-collar" jobs to develop energy sources that are friendly to the environment.
Clinton comes swinging back: I have plans to create five million new, green collar jobs!
McCain also mentioned the need for job training in green technology
A class of people working for the environment... a white collar and blue collar job usually refers to a class defined by income and sometimes culture.... A green collar community surrounded by windmills or tidal generators with people driving solar powered cars?

Green is the wave of the future. If I had to go back to school again, I'd major in one of the environmental sciences --not only because I think jobs in this area will be in high demand, but also because I find it rewarding in non-monetary ways.
McCain seems like a decent, intelligent fellow and is infinitely better than Bush, but I just don't trust the Republican Party when it comes to the environment. Environmental issues haven't even been mentioned as a part of their party platform in past conventions. On this issue alone, I gotta vote for the Dem. nominee.

I was just wondering if there is a group of paid or unpaid people in York who are responsible for picking up the tons of (mostly recyclable) litter that blows all over the major roads in otherwise scenic communities (springwood road, Camp Betty-Washington/Haines, Chestnut Hill). I know individuals try to help, but one laners make 2 people and a vehicle necessary. Anyone interested in making sweeps???

I definitely would be interested, Sue, but I live in the D.C. area (I was considering moving to the York area at one time). Good Luck with the highway project.
