The new Chevy Malibu has been selling well. One plant producing Malibus on one shift has expanded to assembling them on two shifts in just its first few months on the market,

The 3.6-liter, 252-horsepower V-6 is replaced with a 2.4-liter, 164-h.p. 4 with a nickel-metal-hydride assist. A mild power assist and auto-stop at traffic lights yields an extra 2mpg. chicagotribune.com
