Why did they stop producing the Insight? It looks like the Automatic version has a lower air pollution level than the 5-speed. I'm not sure the 5-speed would pass York County Emissions testing.

My 5 speed Civic Hybrid drive train is the evolution of the Insight. The insight was, however, smaller lighter and more aerodynamic so it got better mileage.
It also was a two seater, so it didn't gain a widespread audience. It enjoyed a pretty good production run, provided Honda with valuable real world information about it's parallel hybrid system and lives on in the Civic.
