Tyler Reisinger, of Dallastown, wins the medium title for the "Guitar Hero III" competition at the York Galleria.

Tyler won an electric guitar after blazing through the medium level of The Rock Star Challenge held Sunday at the York Galleria.

"This will be my first one," he said as he examined his prize.

The "Guitar Hero III" competition, held in 10 regional malls owned by CBL & Associates Properties, pitted players in three levels - easy, medium and expert - against each other. The winner in each level won a guitar.

"Guitar Hero" is a video game that lets players hit buttons on a mock guitar to play along with music.

The tournament was held in part to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. A silent auction and games were also held Sunday, and, last week, canisters were placed in participating stores and employees were encouraged to donate $1, said Dana Scott, the mall's marketing director.
