VIDEO: 200 years of Friends

081411-pmk-1-200-130.jpgRedlands Meetinghouse, in Newberry Township, celebrates 200 years.
A family drives 4 hours to share their Quaker heritage with their sons.
Looking for jobs, the threat of Civil War, and wanting to join family in Ohio the meetinghouse was “laid down” or decommissioned in 1862 and Redlands Meetinghouse and the cemetery became the responsibility of Menallen Meeting of Biglerville, Pa.
The building has remained unchanged since the mid 19th century.
