I have to admit I was excited when Instagram dropped into Google Play today.
After watching the iPhone masses pass them around, I thought I was missing something.
Instagram is pretty lame as a filter app. The weak selection of filters and cropping everything from the rectangular images on my Android phone into a square is a no go.
Pixlr-o-matic (download here) gives you the option of cropping or not.
You can choose the size of your processed image right up too huge (depending on the resolution of your phone camera).
It starts out with a basic number (30) of filters, not to overwhelm your brain. Get to the end of the slider and you can install a total of 80 toning filters.
Next you can overlay 250 effects, frames. etc. on to the 80 different toning filters.
Save your creation to your phone to do do what you want with it or share directly with social networks. You can also post directly to imm.io by pixlr.com
