Push a message, link, your brand with a Mobile WiFi hot spot

The Verizon Jetpack is a self-contained Wifi router using a 4G/3G connection.

I mostly use the Jetpack in public places as a mobile platform with a laptop to process images, video, update ydr.com and share those links with social networks.

Although it’s a secured connection, it’s also a visible connection to anyone logging into Wifi in a public place (draw a circle around me for about 60 feet) can see.

Why waste that connection with the default jibberish.

My mobile newsroom is usually in a coffee shop, restaurant, the venue I am covering. A place where people gather.

I could make the message more dynamic by promoting the current story I am updating.

On the Jetpack log into a browser on the device you have currently connected to WiFi and place this URL  http://192.168.1.1/index.html in the browser. That will allow you to change the network name of the Jetpack in it’s dashboard. You will need to reauthorize all connections with the Jetpack.
