We'd be remiss this week not to lead off with the storm. Nothing seemed to escape it ...
The York facility for of Harley-Davidson was one of the many businesses that closed their doors at points during this week's massive winter storm in the Northeast. The plant let out early Wednesday morning, and then extended the shutdown until second shift on Thursday.
Speaking of York operations, the person who led the facilities for the better part of a decade before moving up in Harley's corporate structure, has decided to retire. James A. McCaslin, the York GM beginning in 1992, became president of the motor company in 2001 and will retire from his current product development position effective April 30.
Also retiring is Gail A. Lione, Harley's general counsel along with a slew of other posts. She will remain as head of the Harley-Davidson Foundation.
Harley-Davidson also this week declared a cash dividend for shareholders of 10 cents a share.
