I closed up my laptop and was heading for a cup of coffee when I noticed President Obama on one of the numerous monitors located throughout the facility. Oh S**t! The backdrop looked just like our press briefing room. I hustled back...not here, but about two dozen photographers and TV crew were focused on the isle Obama uses to go between meeting rooms on opposite sides of the press room.
Sever minutes later, he appeared. He stopped to shake hands with some of the young members of the UNFCCC press room support staff. Pretty amazing - big smile, friendly, "what are you still doing here" comments to the young women in blue UNFCCC shirts. He's seen them several times so far today as he's traversed the press room. There he was - 10 feet away briefly conversing with the group. NBC captured it. Check it out tonight - look for the screaming girls in blue shirts. Yes I'm thrilled. He then continued along the isle right past me. I never expected to be so close to our president under informal circumstances like this.
Several press asked the obvious question, "President Obama, do we have a climate agreement yet?" He did not respond to the question.
Oh, and for the record, I'm not an "uninvited State Dinner crasher." My credentials allow me to be in the room.

I'm so, SO jealous. This totally trumps my Obama stories from Friday.
