Wisehaven youth tennis team wins Central Penn District championship

A Wisehaven Tennis Center youth team has won the United States Tennis Association Junior Team Tennis Central Penn District Championship in the 12-and-under age group.

The District Championship was held at the Hempfield Area Recreation Center in Landisville on July 22. In the final round, the Wisehaven team defeated a team from Eastern Lebanon County, 45 games to 15 games, to secure the title. The Wisehaven team now advances to the USTA Junior Team Tennis Middle States Sectional Championship in Princeton, N.J., on Aug. 6.

Wisehaven Tennis Center sponsors USTA youth teams in the 12-and-under, 14-and-under and 18-and-under age groups. Wisehaven teams are made up of players from all over central Pennsylvania. Wisehaven owner Jim Overbaugh oversees tennis training classes for youth and adults in all age and skill categories.
