Washington, strong voice and defender

| | Comments (2)

City Councilwoman Vickie Washington has been a strong voice and defender of City homeowners, taxpayers and citizens overall in the last three years. She has never wavered in her stated goals of serving the citizens of York with prudent and reasonable judgment in her Council votes.

Washington has championed the cause public safety (Fire and Police) in protecting the resources necessary to keep our neighborhoods safe. Washington has studied, questioned and ultimately opposed every property tax increase proposed by the Administration and Council. At the same time she has been instrumental in furthering programs and discussions beneficial to the City’s well being.

York needs leadership that is independent in its thinking and courageous in its leadership. Vickie Washington represents these worthy goals. She is committed to represent all the citizens of York City. I urge my fellow citizens to Vote for Vickie in the May Primary.

Interesting letter. You forgot to mention her lack of paying taxes herself. Her lack of paying her sewer bills. Both totalling several thousands of dollars. Sure she can vote any tax increase down as she has no intention of paying them anyhow. Every week the ciitzens of York must endure the constant stream of her supporters making the council into a circus.

Interesting but not true comment. This comment fails to tell the truth, that Vickie and her husband have been in a payment program with the city for their sewer and taxes and have fulfilled their financial obligations. They are not alone in their situation as many York residents have had to do this when times get tough.
How easy to tell half-truths. Vickie Washington does her homework and fights for all the citizens of York City. She does not believe in smear tactics and has not done so even in a very nasty campaign by Toni Smith and her gang.
