One Voice Choral Camp
We are quite fortunate to have at our access, One Voice Choral Camp for children sponsored by York County Honors Choir.
My son enrolled in this camp last year for the first time. Ok, ok, I highly encouraged (forced) him to attend, but only because he loves to sing. He sings in the car; he sings in the shower; he sings everywhere. Being the tough little athlete he is; however, he was not too crazy to attend. However upon picking him up at the end of the day he said, “Ok, don’t tell anyone, but I really liked it. I can’t wait to go back.”

Unfortunately I can no longer keep this promise to my son. I need to tell everyone about this camp. This camp is for fourth, fifth, and sixth graders who have expressed any interest in singing. Children do not need to be “professionals” or have any formal training. (My son didn’t.) Students only need to show an interest in singing. (My son did.) The highly qualified staff of directors, musicians, and student-helpers will work wonders with the students in one week. During the week my son met many new friends, worked with some very talented people, and grew in his abilities and confidence as a singer. At the final concert, I marveled in the sound coming from the stage, and I shed one of those “parent tears” you get when you’re darn proud of your child.
My son is looking forward to returning to One Voice Choral Camp this summer as well. If you know of any student slightly interested in singing I encourage you to find out more about this program. Please call York County Honors Choir, 812-9255 for more information.
