Downsize buses
Rabbittransit is a great asset to a few in the area and a great waste to many. If any of us would operate a business the way this transit system operates, it would be bankrupt in one year. What upsets me is they say they will need more tax money from us. I have been watching these bus routes operate all day long with six people or less (mostly no one aboard) and they run too large of a size bus for the number of riders.

They have records for a couple years of the average number of riders during different hours of the day and they could combine some routes and use smaller bus vans most of the day for less expense. If it were left up to me, the system would need to pay for itself by the fare charged or drop that system and use another, such as, the county pay a fee to a taxi to pick up and deliver emergency, elderly, and the disabled. This would eliminate the hours and hours of the Rabbittransit running around with fuel guzzlers all over York with no riders. Next time you see a large Rabbittransit bus -- count the number of riders.
