Eliminate welfare
On the immigration issue, the real problem is the welfare state. Self-responsible immigrants who are not violent criminals, terrorists, or have communicable diseases poise no threat, economic or physical, to natural born Americans. The existing welfare system in America robs
from the self-responsible for those who will not or cannot be responsible. All welfare programs should be eliminated. No handouts for immigrants and no handouts for natural born Americans either. Immigrants add to the productive nature of society – If they are required to be self-responsible and self-supporting. Both supply and demand are increased by the presence
of immigrants -- If they are required to be self-responsible and self-supporting.

Look at the history of immigrants prior to the welfare state, which came into full being in the mid-20th century. Today some immigrants are self-responsible, but many are not -- and don’t need to be, since they can take advantage of freebies from the welfare state, even without legal status.

Illegal aliens do not qualify for welfare. You might want to do your homework before ranting.
Notice the author said they benefit from the welfare state. Not necessarily the kind of welfare many lazy or genuinely disabled persons use. Illegal aliens are often given handouts in the form of free medical care, etc.
The welfare state is a terrible system, though, and we would be much better off without it. Great topic to be brought up.

you are so right! it has NOTHING to do with race. It has to do with being a contributing member of society - no matter what your ancestry!!! We are ALL IMMIGRANTS with the exception of Native Americans - duh...
Jerry, are you ready for the severe repercussions of doing away with welfare altogether might cause? Bill Clinton did a great job with Welfare Reform. Conspiracy Theory is right, illegal aliens cannot receive welfare...duh.
