Lead by example
Neo Con desk generals like Bill Kristol and John Bolton, think the American people are dumb as sheep. They think they can lie us into another war, a war with no discernible upside and a potential catastrophic downside. This war would start with an attack on Iran and possibly Syria, but could spill over into the rest of the Middle East, and include Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. It would also, quite possibly, bring swift economic retaliation against the U.S. from China and Russia, and perhaps the European Union.
I cannot understand the so-called logic behind this war frenzy. Turning the Middle East topsy turvy seems to me to be in no nation's interest, particularly ours.

Diplomatic engagement with nations in the Gulf region, and, over time, the development of economic ties, would do far more harm to the enemies of the U.S.
Compared to the drab, repressed theocracies and secular dictatorships that dot the middle east, a vibrant, fair, productive America would seem a far more attractive choice as a national role model for people throughout the region.
People around the world long for freedom and peace. If we reduce our belligerent rhetoric and lead by example, we will take back the moral high ground and truly serve our national interest. Our present course, the course of war, invasion and arrogance, will eventually exhaust our treasury, our military and our national resolve, while providing the international criminals that attacked us on 9-11 a great recruiting tool.
The NeoCon gang, so quick to call for war, so universally unwilling to put on a uniform and join the fighting, should be ignored. They are purveyors of a lunatic foreign policy, and they should be called to account for the mess they have gotten us into.
