Robertson deserves recognition

| | Comments (1)

Charles H. Robertson is my friend and I am proud of it. When I ran for city office two years ago, Charles H. Robertson reached out to a stranger and offered sound advice. When my campaign office opened, Charles H. Robertson was there to offer his public support. When negative publicity hit the newspaper, Charles H. Robertson was one of the first to call with understanding and support. When the campaign was over and the election was lost, Charles H. Robertson stood with me that night with unwavering support. When my wife recently passed away, Charles H. Robertson, among others, came to my home and provided comfort and understanding in my time of overwhelming grief.

Charles H. Robertson, former Police Officer, former Mayor of the City of York, former school board member, life long children’s youth sports advocate, and citizen of York deserves more than editorials of shame. Charles H. Robertson, like many among us, has made mistakes during his lifetime. He, like the rest of us fallible humans lives with those errors in judgment and is regretful for them. But Charles H. Robertson, like the rest of us, deserves the recognition for the good he has done in a lifetime of service to the City. Charles H. Robertson is a man of compassion and friendship. He has shown those qualities in his quiet way many times to many people. I take pride in claiming Charley Robertson as my friend.

While I don't know him personally I am in full agreement with you that he did a lot of good for the city.

He did a hell of a lot more good for the City of York than John Brenner will ever do.
