Adams land should be preserved

| | Comments (0)

Several news stories and editorials have presented information about the potential sale of 2500 acres of woodland by Glatfelter in western Adams County. The price tag, $12.6 million. Many individuals and public officials say the land should be preserved, despite having no funding for it. If this land becomes developed, place the blame on Commissioner Candidate Marty Qually, and the senior leadership of No Casino Gettysburg.

Purchasing this land is exactly the type of project slots revenues would have underwritten. But, Mr. Qually and others who led the charge against the slots parlor had no vision on how Adams County would benefit from this revenue. For purely political purposes, Qually engaged in personal attacks and character assassinations of the investors and supporters of the casino. He had no interest in the future of Adams County. Remember this on Election Day. Don’t forget it when the trees are cleared and houses are erected.
