Dream Act S. 2205

It would interest me greatly as I’m sure many others, why you would a U.S. Senator, would vote in favor of the Dream Act S. 2205. What is it about the word illegal don’t some in Washington understand? Why would they want to give financial aid to a person who number one doesn’t belong here, and two, what makes you think they won’t default on their student loans and either move back to their homeland, or lose themselves again in society leaving the burden of the cost on the backs of legal residents and taxpayers?

We have enough families here legally that are in need of additional help from their government. Why should anyone here illegally be given benefits of any kind? If it’s a path to citizenship that some in Washington and others are looking for, yes I agree deporting the millions would be impossible, but at least take them to task and not simply grant them an amnesty of sorts. Have all who entered or remain in the country illegally register and agree to undergo a complete and thorough criminal background check. If they clear that hurdle then give them a temporary status contingent on that they do not commit a crime of a serious nature during their probationary term say three to five years. And no, they cannot bring over their entire family tree, only their immediate family members, spouse, children and parents also on the condition they do not need any government assistance in order to survive after all members are here.

I am not against immigration but it cannot continue in this chaotic manner. Both the northern and southern borders must be made more secure. It must be a controlled process, controlled by the federal government, not left up to local and state bodies. Sanctuary cities should then be dealt with as their “sanctuary” status would no longer be required. Unless of course our congressional representatives are willing to give all of us a onetime get out of jail free card. It clearly is time for this immigration issue to be resolved and a common sense approach would be a fresh idea for starters.

Illegal immigration is already becoming a killer issue in elections, as Hillary found out the other night. It's a major issue here in Northern Virginia where some counties like Arlington actively shelter illegals while others like Prince William try to help the feds instead of working against them. Any candidate who supports illegals will pay dearly, and the Dems seem to be coming down squarely on the wrong side of this issue.
