Army sniper
After reading the article in Mondays paper about the military sniper getting 10 years, really got me ticked. The government always has a scapegoat. We send our boys over to a useless war (just like Vietnam) and then tie their hands. Vela would have been punished no matter what he did, if he didn't follow orders from a superior, he would have been punished.

We are putting these boys in situations where they have no clue who the enemy is. It can be anybody from a great grandmother to a 10 year old child. We have all these fancy officials sitting on their pedestals making all these rules, without being in our soldiers shoes! As with any war, it messes with a soldiers mind, why can't the general public understand that? Its kill or be killed. We send them over with minimal training, crappy equipment,and mentally they are not prepared. Then they see their friends shot or blown up, see people killed, they are sleep deprived and the public expects these soldiers to be calm and ration al,in their reactions. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Whats wrong with this picture? How can we send these soldiers to a war and then insist they be polite and rational because they come from USA.
ITS A War Not a tea party.
