Racial tolerance comments

| | Comments (4)

I was shocked to read Ed Rendell's comments about Pennsylvania's racial tolerance. To say that we are likely to vote against Barack Obama because he is black was simply stone-aged. How can we ever move foward together into a future of tolerance when our leader makes such ridiculous comments? With comments like that, I'm surprised he supports Hillary Clinton... I mean, she's a woman and surely Pennsylvania isn't ready for a female president, right?!

Rendell is a politically astute Philadelphia lawyer who knows firsthand how conservative and racist PA citizens are there, and even more so outside the cities. As some observers say, PA is Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with Alabama in between, a/k/a North West Virginia.

Mr. Spangler’s comment is ridiculous. I grew up in the South (Democratic family) and have lived across the U.S., coast to coast. Americans live in all states who would not vote for Senator Obama because he is black, who would not vote for Senator Clinton because she is female, and who would not vote for Senator McCain because he is old. However, this is not true of the country in general or any state or region in particular, including middle Pennsylvania. Moderate and even marginally successful, hardworking Americans simply don’t want the federal government interfering in their lives and increasing their taxes. Americans who live in the city, especially big cities, see crime and poverty daily and believe the government can and should fix the problem. These Americans also believe the Democratic Party can do it, even though no one has yet been able to.

Those “anti-racist” groups, that are calling Governor Rendell’s statement racist, need to examine their reason to be. If these groups believe there is no “voting bias” in America, the groups should disband. Otherwise, these groups should be happy with the Governor’s statement. However, instead of applauding the Governor for standing with them, they are grasping at straws by labeling his statement as racist.

I love the big goverment paranoia. Then right wingnut Michelle Malkin complains about the small, liberal town of Berkeley, California and how it's run.
