Malkin editorial
There was a measure of irony in your printing Michelle Malkin’s hatred-laced editorial column (March 22nd - "Say Goodbye to the Glowbama Mystque") attacking Barack Obama over Easter weekend. The editorial was a poignant reminder of how little we’ve learned from Christ and just how low people will stoop to destroy a message of hope.

Ms. Malkin had a field day calling Obama every political name in the book and chastising the candidate for his association with a fiery pastor whose views on a number of subjects, including the morality of war’s violence, aren’t in line with Ms. Malkin’s extreme right-wing ideology.
The vehemence of Ms. Malkin’s attack on Obama reminded me of similar attacks on Christ by the religious establishment of His day, who objected greatly to Christ’s association with tax collectors, prostitutes and the poor - people who were generally regarded as the sinners of society. Christ brought His message of hope to the marginalized, and those in power felt threatened and saw to it that He was nailed to a tree.
Barack Obama is not Jesus Christ, nor is he America’s religious savior. But he does carry a message of hope for a better America, and there are many, like Ms. Malkins, who feel threatened by that message and will stop at nothing to nail Obama to a tree.
Hope can bring out the best in people. It can also bring out the worst.

Obama is an empty suit with a good shtick but little more substance than his gauzy Up With People hope and a radical socialist agenda which he knows is impossible to achieve. His tolerance for a Black Power racist pastor is further evidence of how unelectable he would be.
I agree with Jeff. Obama promises "change". What does that mean? In his eyes, bigger Government. Like we need that, Bush gave us more of the same, his biggest disappointment. And I would LOVE to hear what the liberals would say if a white candidate's pastor preached hate against America and other races like his idiot pastor does.
Dash, you mean like the preachers of hate whom McCain has been courting and sucking up to for endorsements? Hagee, Parsley, the late Jerry Falwell? Obama wasn't seeking the endorsement of hate-mongers; McCain IS.
