Revise election process

| | Comments (1)

The article "The Final Push" in your paper 3/25/08 illustrates why our state needs to revise its voting regulations. It is deplorable that someone can and does switch parties for the primary just to try to influence who runs against the opposing party in November. Independents should have a vote but the cutoff time should not be so close to the actual date of the election as it presently is. The last two presidential elections have proven the whole election process needs revision. We really don't need any more "rigged" elections. We need to learn from history.

Don't count on the political pimps in the legislature to change anything anytime soon. The best solution is probably an open primary, in which you are not registered by party, and anyone can vote in either primary, as in Virginia and other states.
