What happened to Jesus Christ?

| | Comments (12)

I read the York Daily Record newspaper on 'Good Friday' and there were no Headlines or any mention/picture of JESUS CHRIST on the front page or any of the other pages in your paper. Then I read the York Sunday News on 'Easter Sunday' and again He was not shown anywhere in the headlines of the entire paper.

What happened to JESUS ?

Your papers showed murderers, fires, political news, other people, etc. ........ But, No JESUS. What happened to JESUS on the celebration of His death or the celebration of His resurection ? Isn't He more important to the majority of the people, as compared to all the other news you print, especially on these two important days ?

National news has shown statistics that approximately 85% of Americans believe in JESUS.

What happened to my JESUS CHRIST on 'Good Friday' and 'Easter Sunday' ?

Jesus is history, the "opiate of the people", and not news. Get your fix of Jesus from your church, not the news media.

I suppose that 85% of Americans also don't believe that dinosaurs ruled the earth for 150 Million years; as opposed to the human existence of less than one million years!

It's a newspaper, sport. And until Jesus returns to earth, it ain't news.

The others already put it succinctly... Jesus, if there was such a person, is history - not news. He's dead, and he's not coming back, so try to come back to reality and participate in making this world a better place. We don't need imaginary deities, we need people who can think.

"opiate of the people", is a phrase most often attributed to Karl Marx. However, closer examination suggests that it is probably a variation of a statement by the Marquis de Sade, made some 20 years before Marx was born.

There is no event of ancient history that is as thoroughly documented as the life,-----and death,-----and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

You're missing the point, Roy. We live in a FREE country. I would feel just as obligated to respond the same way to someone that complained that there was not enough about Allah in the newspaper.

Get over the fairy tales, sport. Its a NEWSpaper, and the fact that a bunch of superstitious yahoos still don't have the self-strength to think their way past this anachronistic nonsense doesn't mean the paper should waste space subjecting the rest of us to this idiocy. These "True Believers" are probably the same boobs who say that, in retrospect, they still would have voted a second Bush term.

Jesus Christ said:

I have been dead for thousands of years. Leave me alone.

Roy, the alleged resurrection wasn't "documented" until at least a generation after the supposed event. Even those accounts contradict each other on many points.

And the "fool" may say it in his heart, but the wise man says it aloud.

AS always this is the way of the new generation. Thinking that Jesus Christ is not news till he comes. Everone has a right to aggree or disaggree. Its the end result that will count. Peace to all

Jesus may not have been in the York papers my brother but let me assure you He is alive in us and gives us life everlasting. My prayer is for you and I to allow Jesus to guide us and all who seek Him to watch over us all and may all come to find a faith and place for Him always in our heart and soul. May you all take joy in our Lord and Risen Savior who remains preparing a place for you and I until GOds appointed time for His return. Love and Peace to you from Christ our Lord and Saviour!
