Old-fashioned advice
Another tragic event involving a young child brought to mind thoughts that
just have to be put on paper. My advice is simple and maybe old fashioned. Some might
not think it politically correct, but I don't care.
To young women everywhere, stop having babies in uncommitted relationships.
Trust me, the next man in your life does not want to baby-sit the product of your previous
relationship. They are not prepared to be fathers, and most likely don't have any
emotional connection to this child who is not his own.
To the men who are considering getting into a relationship with a mother of
young children, you are better off staying out of such a situation. The child or children
of that woman are not your responsibility, but they will become so. When the relationship
ends with that mother, you face a huge risk of being retaliated against using the children.
You may not realize how easy it is to tell a false story to authorities to have you arrested
and prosecuted. The police and other investigaters are only too happy to believe lies told by
angry ex-wives, girlfriends, etc. If you only knew how little it takes to ruin your life, you would
run the other way and never get involved. Making your risk even greater are the recent
laws taking away any statute of limitations on sexual abuse allegations. Even if you
did nothing wrong, you could find yourself sitting in a jail cell 20 years later wondering
how you are going to prove your innocence and regain your reputation.
